What: a large exhibition of miniature railroads and trains, appropriately located near the railway station.
York model railway has 323 metres of 00 gauge track made up into four main oval systems in the central display. Three panels control the 21 daily trains that crisscross the rail lines and there are interactive buttons throughout.
The trains include the Intercity 125, the Orient Express, and the Royal Train, complete with royal crests on each coach. More than 1000 miniature trees and bushes, and 300 cars and lorries add to the realism of the display.
There is also a large N gauge track with a Germanic theme plus a large area for children containing Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends.
There is a large well-stocked gift / model train shop is attached to the exhibition.
